Appearance: Crystal clear. Aroma: Laveder bouquet of original Beefeater is replaced by floral aromas, particuarly hibiscus with berry notes also evident. Taste: Less citrussy than is usual for Beefeater with superbly intergrated flavours which present as a unified force making it hard to distinquish the individual contributions of the elderflower, hibiscus and blackcurrant that set this gin apart from original Beefeater. Aftertaste: Blackberry emerges in a reassuringly predominant pine-ey juniper finish. A master class in gin formulation by Desmond Payne.
